An old woman named Nanna sews small sweaters for penguins in order they are protected from freezing
An old woman who was 98, sews jumpers for seabirds. Due to these sweaters the small penguins living in an island do not hurt from oil. Nanna inhabits in Victoria. She has been sewing clothes for seabirds for 18 years. Generally there were about thousand sweaters made for Foundation of Penguins.
The woman had the chance to visit the island to see the little penguins. It was mentioned that a small drop of oil may kill the seabird as it divides feathers have an ” entrance ” for water. For that reason birds get cold, obtain weight and become less capable to get food. While the penguins having sweaters on them may survive and be protected from water.
The jumpers can be obtained from different parts of the earth. It happens that the clothes may not suit the seabirds. In these cases they had it on soft toys and they are sold. Good news is that from 2001 there have not been any oil drops around the island so the sweaters are kept in case to be used for future cases. It is rather praiseworthy when individuals do such kinds of acts for assisting animals.
